One of the reasons why grains are so important in your diet is because they contain many important nutrients. First of all, most grains are packed with nutrition, including lots of protein and iron. Secondly, there are anti-oxidants found in grains that protect the brain from cellular damage. Last but not least, grains are filling and have a nice, natural “bounce” to them, which makes them especially nice to eat at meal times when you might not normally like a big bowl of something.
As you can probably tell from this list of benefits, and the information about whole grains that I’ve listed, they are very healthy foods. One thing you need to keep in mind though, is that healthy whole grains tend to be very expensive. Because of this, you may want to just purchase healthier alternative products like brown rice instead.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but if you’re still not eating healthy because of the cost of eating healthy, then you really need to make some changes. The easiest way to do this is to simply eat foods in portions. You can eat smaller portions of healthy foods, and that will keep your bill down, while still allowing you to eat healthy.
Another great tip I can give you is to avoid processed food like you would a cheeseburger or bagel. Processed foods are high in calories and low in nutrients. This is what causes people to become overweight in the first place: the excess calories eaten creates extra fat cells, and these fat cells add to the total amount of calories consumed. By substituting your processed food for something healthier, like a fresh fruit, you’ll be able to keep your bill down while still adding those healthy nutrients that you need. Plus, eating healthier will also make you feel better overall.
